Some More Christmas Decor....!

Thought I'd share some more of my decorating....I do know that I can get a little extreme when it comes to this thing called decorating...but hey it's what I can and like to do...and it's SO FUN!! Not to mention that I love all the stuff I see in BH&G, or Pottery Barn or even Ethan Allen...but who can afford to actually buy that stuff...NOT ME..so when I see something that is so super cute but the price tag is like something crazy, my mind starts to turn and I figure it out on my own....that is the FUN part about it....so people no I DO NOT have alot of money to just splurge, our family is on a budget so I have to glitter and glam what I have! You need to pull out all of that "old" stuff, or check out the DI or Goodwill, you won't believe what people give away...SERIOUSLY!! Those wreaths hanging up I got at Savers for 10 cents a piece and I glittered one and sprayed glued the other and put green moss all over it!(Thanks Bath and Body for the idea..giddy giddy!) If you got some picks that are just plain and ugly..get that glitter out and it will be shiny new!! One of my FAVORITE blogs is the nester...(nestingplacenc.blogspot.com) she is great at hot gluing any and everything...check her out for some ideas at least I would NEVER think of.....like a fur wreath.....seriously who would of thought..!

Saw this, wreaths hanging from the ceiling in the Bath and Body Works store....they are my favorite for inspiration...every year I check out what they do....amazing!

Front door basket of glittered pinecones...okay at Target you can get a bag for 10 bucks....HECK NO go to your park and have the kids do a race to pick up the most and then do a treat..that's what I did...!!
Welcome to my home...saw this idea on an Ethan Allen cover a few years back...LOVE IT!!

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree..........

So here is the family tree....finished with the silhouette ornaments, really they are just mod podged paper...until I find the frames..I glittered the poinsettas and some ornaments..I put a ton of damask ribbon and fabric and tied into knots all over the tree just to fill in those bare spots and to match my garlands..(I will post those soon). I also found some ornaments at Hobby Lobby that are black and red with damask...LOVE that!! Who said you couldn't have a black christmas tree?? I absolutely love these colors and now I see black damask everywhere. A couple of years ago you couldn't, so I get extremely thrilled when I see a store have it!! Uh yeah....gotta have matching presents ...these are just the family presents, santa's won't be "themed"...geesh gotta save that paper for upcoming christmases...I guess you can say I have a "matching" problem...heehee!

Just a great tip, you know how tree skirts are, well...just too small now a days...so I suggest what I did...a matching tablecloth instead! Use a round one and then top it with the treeskirt or use the tree skirt on a table or just be creative with it! That way you can actually see it under the tree when you have a couple of those presents there.

So I finished the girl's tree skirt and it came out really cute....I did mess up on one side darn it but you can't tell to the "un"sewer eyes...heehee! Little do the girls know Santa is re doing thier room in a fun funky spunky new do...can ya guess the theme...I have been busy with these colors let me tell ya...they will be so excited...can't wait! The painting will have to wait until after christmas...obviously but they can help me with that..!

Santa's Cookie Tray...DIY project!

I did this a few years back for a SSaturday project and it is really cute and super easy! All you need to do is pick up a frame 11x14 size and some hardware..(got everything at Walmart) and some cute paper and embellishments to put this cute thing together. We printed off the wording on the computer (Plate of Cookies) and then stamped the other words...soo cute! Some of the ladies did interchangeable ones for birthdays, valentines...any special occasion they wanted to. If you got questions, email me at rayandnicole@msn.com, and I'll try to help!
No cookies yet...heehee)!

My family Advent Calendar...

This calendar I got at a cute boutique I went with Mandi a couple of years ago and thought..yeah sure probably could make it, but do I really have the time...uh NO! So I bought it and was helping someone out at the same time..! I also added a scripture to read every night that is about Christ's birth...actually I just got a cute neighbor gift last night and the scriptures outline was included...really cute, thanks Early's! Talk about ON THE BALL..!

As I was putting this up for the kids, Bella was doing this...

I guess she knows when mom is busy and she can get into stuff....luckily she is good to help me pick things up and put it away...whew!

Cute lil' stinkpot..! I love you even when you are a bad bad little girl..heehee!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas....!

So I am pretty much done with all my decorating, Ray put the lights on outside and he did a great job!..This is what I have pics of so far and I will post some more tomorrow or so..I have been meaning to post about my pantry since it's been done but have been too busy!

Here's my new light above my kitchen table...see the glittered balls? CuTe!
Loving my table top decor, those tags I made years ago for an Enrichment dinner and decided to use them again...they have glitter on them..(giddy giddy!)

Can you see I was playing around with it, the christmas ball I decided looked better on the light instead and had to glitter my pinecones...funny! Stay tuned for my tree..I have to finish my sillhouette ornaments and adding (hopefully!) a ruffle trim to my tree skirt!

Glitter Time...!

It's amazing with this little bottle what you can do....I was finding everything and anything to glitter....!

I decided the kid's table would be simple so the girls helped me put this together and the kids wrote what they were thankful for...really cute!

It was a fun time...we also did our traditional candle lighting, where everyone has a candle and someone starts off saying what they are thankful for they then light the next person's candle...it was super sweet and neat to hear the kids especially say what they were thankful for..!

GOOD TIMES!! Thanks everyone for coming over and having a wonderful time..love you all!!
